Cyril Mottier's website (TI applications)

Welcome to the web page of Cyril Mottier. The main purpose of this page is to gather all programs, games or tutorials I made over the last few years for TI graphics calculator. Here I can explain the purpose of this website. As you can easily notice, this web page is quite clear and does not contain a lot of information. In fact, I decided to move this web page from my previous website just to keep all programs I made for those TI calculators. I recently completed my studies and thus I think I won't code on calculators anymore. As a result, applications below won't be updated. Nevertheless, if you want to update one of those application, keep in mind source codes are always available.

Games

Here is the selection of all games I programmed using the C language. For all these games, you can download two versions: the ti89/ti89t version is made for Ti89 series and the v200/92+ version is obviously optimized for Ti92+ series. You can also download sources of all this games and have a look at it. Usually, it's really interesting to study how games are designed.

Oddsnake (v1.15)

Screenshot OddsnakeThe purpose is very simple: you are a starving snake and you want to eat all bubbles you find in order to become longer and longer. You are an oddsnake because you can go throught little "walls". That's simple, isn't it? The score depends on speed and maze which can be changed in 'Options'. It decreases during the game when the snake move 40 times. Highscores and options are saved in an external file "oddsave" so you can archive "oddsnake", your score will be saved! Here are some links to download this game:

Square (v1.10)

Screenshot SquareThis game is pretty nice: you have to fill the square with a score of 100! As you can see, square is a simple game. You can easily understand how to play but it's more difficult to find how to finish this game. You are going to need to cogitate. The set presents a square including 100 cells. Your goal is to fill these cells with numbers but you can just move your cursor with special movements. Don't despair: this game CAN be finished. You just have to insist. Square can be downloaded with links below:

Xchange (v1.20)

Screenshot XchangeThe piece at the right of the screen is called the "attack piece" and the area at the left of the screen is called the "square area". When you press [LEFT], the "attack piece" goes through the screen in the "square area" in a certain way (you'll understand this way when you'll play this game; basically, it moves left until it reaches either the left of the screen or the sort of staircase, and gets reflected by 90° from these stairs in the latter case). The goal of the game is to have an "attack piece" which is NOT in the "square area". It seems to be simple but you have to know that if you go in the "square area" to eat the same pieces as your "attack piece" you'll eat the same piece but you'll switch your "attack piece" with the piece placed at the finished position in the square. Don't be afraid reading this presentation. You'll rapidly understand when you'll launch the game. That's all! Here are the links to download Xchange:

Programs

You can find in this section all programs I've made for TI calculator. Almost are written in Ti-Basic so don't expect them being very powerful!

Batterie (v2.00f)

Screenshot Batterie

This is the first program I coded using C language. I'm aware this program is totally useless but this section in made for this! It simply display a little logo on the bottom of the screen which means your battery is low. In fact, this logo is a fake. You can use this program to prevent your friends from using your calculator.

E_test (demo)

Screenshot E_test

E-test is the last and the biggest program I coded in Ti-Basic using Vertel3 library. It provides you a way to study and learn all your english irregular verbs. I understand this program is not very useful for English speaker but it's not the case for others. This programs is and will stay a demo. It just works on V200 and ti92+ series.

Menuvert (2.10)

Screenshot Menuvert

This little program gives a quick access to all functions of vertel3. It helps the programmer to code faster because he don't have to tape all functions.

Secret (v1.00)

Screenshot Secret

This small program encode your pictures using avery simple algorythm. As a result, the encoding is quick and the result looks like "statics". The picture just upon this text shows you a result of an encoded picture.

Square (v1.00)

Screenshot Square

It the Ti-Basic version of a game I wrote using C language. I won't explain here the goal of this game again and I encourage you to download this other version which is available on "Games" part. Nevertheless, for the ones who want to check sources of this game, this version can be downloaded here :

Tutorials

You will find here all tutorials I've made for TI calculators ... Some of them are written in english and others in french.

Tutorial on Vertel3

This tutorial is written in french and deals with programming with the library Vertel3 developped by Vertyos. It explain you how to use this powerful library made for Ti-Basic programmers. I'm sorry but this tutorial won't be updated anymore and won't be translated because I don't have enough time to do this now. You can download examples and tutorial using following links or simply read it on line. You can also download Vertel3 here :

RLE tutorial

This tutorial may explain you now to use a RLE compression algorythm to decrease the size of your programs. It show you how to compress a picture and how to decompress this picture to a BITMAP format or a ExtGraph format. This tutorial is written in english and believe me : it's not very difficult to understand. Nevertheless you can contact me if you have a problem understanding some notions or ideas. This tutorial is available on-line or off-line:

Pictures

Here I will present all pictures I've made for TI calculators.

GatepicX (v1.00)
